Wildlife and nature
Capturing an insect or animal in their natural habitat is always rewarding, and also helps give perspective of size.
In the image above it was not taken as a macro shot, but enough detail came through at this size for a web image. Clearly this would not be suitable for an enlargement onto a canvas etc.
This image has a large negative area left of centre, on this occasion a rule of thirds does not enhance the image.
Once this is cropped changing the image from landscape to portrait the viewer is drawn by the bright flower and stem, which the eye follows and then returns back to the flower head, thus leading to the butterfly, if the butterfly would have been brighter and more vivid colours it would be the main focal point, but in this image it is used to show perspective in size of the flower.
